Final year at university or recently graduated?

You’ve got the degree (or you’re nearly there). Now comes the small matter of working out what happens next.

Graduate schemes, graduate jobs, internships, applications, CVs, LinkedIn, assessment centres, interviews... there’s a lot to think about. And when you’re trying to work out what you actually want to do as well, it can all feel a bit overwhelming.

Graduate Career Weekly is here to make it a little easier.

Every Sunday evening, I’ll send you one email with practical advice, things worth knowing and actions you can actually take to help you prepare for and navigate the move from university into work.

I’ll talk about everything from CVs, LinkedIn and applications to graduate recruitment, interviews, finding experience and working out what might be right for you. And when I spot graduate schemes, internships, opportunities, deadlines or useful resources, I’ll share those too.

I’m not going to fill your inbox or tell you that there’s one perfect route after university. There isn’t.

Just one useful email each week to help you understand your options, get yourself ready and feel more confident about whatever comes next.

Hello, I'm Leanne...

I’m a Career Strategist and Mentor, and before starting my own business I spent more than 30 years working for a global organisation.

I know just how competitive getting that first opportunity after university can be.

I’ve sat on the other side of the table reading applications, shortlisting candidates and interviewing. I’ve designed and run assessment centres, recruited graduates, mentored them and worked alongside them as they’ve built their careers.

So I know what employers are looking for. I know how much work goes into an application that might only get a few minutes of someone’s attention. And I know that sometimes it’s the seemingly small things that can make the difference between progressing and hearing nothing back.

But I also know there’s much more to starting your career than simply getting through a recruitment process.

It’s working out what you want, understanding what’s out there, recognising what you already have to offer and learning how to communicate that with confidence.

My goal is simple: to help you navigate the move from university into work, understand your options and put yourself in the strongest possible position to take that next step with confidence.
